The Wonderful
World of Dry Art
by Yoko Horii
One sunny day I went into the woods found myself bathed in glittering
light, welcomed by the whispering of the wind and the joyous
chorus of the creek.
A fairy-tale magical world is opening up here.
Cheerful friends in the healing woods came out to play,
maybe hide-and-seek...
With these images in mind, I have been creating my dry
art. All kinds of natural gifts from the land, such as nuts,
vines found in the mountains and driftwood floating in the
sea can be used as materials.
Let's appreciate them again, once dried out but reborn as
a dry art.
